Mock Employment Tribunal
The employment team at Capsticks are delighted to invite you to join our Mock Employment Tribunal on Wednesday 25 September, in collaboration with Old Square Chambers.
Chaired by Sian Bond, with guest appearances by the Capsticks team and a special guest star sitting as the Employment Judge, our colleagues from Old Square Chambers, Cyril Adjei and Rosalie Snocken will represent the parties. Following on from our webinar on 3 July 2024, we shall be continuing with the theme of ‘sexual safety in the workplace’; the tribunal will hear an unfair dismissal case brought by a claimant dismissed for gross misconduct after anonymous allegations of sexual harassment against them were upheld by a disciplinary hearing panel. You will have the opportunity to listen to submissions by the barristers, cross examination of witnesses and the decision of the judge will be ‘live’ on the day (and will not be predetermined!).
After the decision has been handed down, attendees will have an opportunity to put questions to the team from Capsticks and Old Square on how the decision was reached and their experiences of Employment Tribunal hearings.
The Mock Employment Tribunal will provide a real life guide for HR professionals and may also be a useful experience for any other staff who may be involved in tribunal proceedings.
Prior to the event, registrants will receive materials to help them to prepare and immerse themselves in the Mock Employment Tribunal, including the hearing bundle.
