Renters' (Reform) Bill: What does this mean for Registered Providers?
Join us on Wednesday 5 July, where we will discuss the Renters’ (Reform) Bill and what this means for Registered Providers (RPs) and the social housing sector.
In the session we will be looking at the key sections of the Bill and the proposed changes to housing law in England as part of the government’s commitment to “bring in a better deal for renters”.
Sarah Christy, legal director in our housing management team will be joined by senior associate, Catherine Craven, and will discuss:
- the abolishment of AST’s & management of tenancies following the repeal of section 21 of the Housing Act 1988 – ‘no fault’ evictions
- pets in tenanted properties
- proposed new and amended grounds of possession under section 8
- whether this will improve the process of obtaining possession orders
- whether the Bill will strengthen a landlord’s powers to take ASB action
Attendees will be treated to an engaging and lively discussion from our speakers and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session.
