This summer, Capsticks welcomed 6 sixth-form students from the Harris Federation (which runs Academies across London). The students successfully applied from across the Harris Federation Academies in London for the one-week "Capsticks-Harris Scholarship".

The week-long scheme saw the students attend hearings with Capsticks' lawyers, undertake research tasks into defamation law cases, problem-solve complex medical ethics issues and get a glimpse of life as a solicitor at a busy law firm.

Capsticks are delighted to support the Harris Federation, which is regularly been named as one of the top performing groups in the country for disadvantaged pupils in secondary school education by the Sutton Trust charity

The aim of the scheme is provide an opportunity to students from the Harris Federation Academies to access work experience in the legal profession (https://www.harrisfederation.org.uk/

The six students that attended were superb and a credit to their respective schools. We are grateful for the hard work of Myles Preston, History Teacher at the Harris Academy Morden for championing this scheme.

At Harris Academy Merton we promote the ethos 'Achievement is Success’ and believe every student has the right to the highest standard of education so that they can accomplish their aspirations.
