Experience
Alexander is a Senior Associate and Barrister in the Regulatory Division.
Alexander is an experienced advocate, having practised for over 15 years at the independent Bar before joining Capsticks in October 2023. His practice in chambers included prosecuting fraud, regulatory offences and licensing matters, as well as acting in cases of civil fraud and Housing Act 2004 (HHSRS) enforcement, all on behalf of several local authorities. He regularly dealt with injunctions and judicial review proceedings in the High Court, and advised and represented Social Work England at interim and final hearings.
Expertise
Alexander has experience in professional regulation and fitness to practise hearings, including cases involving sexual misconduct and dishonesty. He has advised and represented regulators including the Teaching Regulation Agency, the Health and Care Professions Council, the General Chiropractic Council and Social Work England. He has represented Social Work England in a number of High Court interim order extension applications.
CSR activity
Alexander is an active member of the firm’s corporate social responsibility initiatives such as his work with the Ahead Partnership.
