Experience
Amanda is an experienced HR Practitioner specialising in Employee Relations. Amanda began her HR career in 2013 working for the NHS as an HR Generalist within a Lead Employer Trust. Amanda then worked in Employee Relations within the private sector, in Telecommunications and Social Care, before joining Capsticks in January 2023. Amanda has experience investigating complex HR cases within highly unionised environments.
Expertise
Amanda is highly experienced with a range of Employee Relations areas, including disciplinary, grievance, complex long-term sickness absence and whistleblowing. She has experience supporting internal panels at both hearing and appeal proceedings.
Amanda has coordinated large scale investigations, most recently with a focus on sexual misconduct and bullying allegations. Amanda manages multiple cases concurrently and is adept at arranging investigations from initial interviews, through to report writing and presentation at hearing. Amanda has a wealth of experience handling sensitive witness interviews, often with reluctant or distressed employees. Amanda is highly motivated and person centred in her work, with a clear communication style.
CSR activity
Amanda has a keen interest in environmental issues and supports a number of environmental charities, alongside being involved in local politics.
Notable Projects
- Amanda has been based within a large NHS Mental Health Trust client since joining Capsticks. Amanda’s role within the Trust has been to offer HR support and guidance across a wide range of Employee Relation cases from their outset to completion, leading on complex investigations, sitting on formal hearing panels and delivering training to management and HR teams.
- Amanda has also supported the Trust with organisational and process changes, leading to a reduction in formal investigations. During this time she has managed a number of high profile cases, including complex sexual harassment disciplinary and grievance cases.
