Experience
James is an Associate in the Claims Department. James handles clinical negligence claims in addition to advising on legal costs in clinical negligence claims against the NHS.
James handles clinical negligence claims for GPs, GP practices and NHS Trusts. James deals with all aspects of claim from pre-action cases to litigation. James has particular expertise in defending claims against general practitioners in claims involving delayed diagnosis of cancer and claims involving multiple defendants.
James has significant experience of costs at all stages in litigation and in his previous role dealt with costs in clinical negligence, housing and commercial cases dealing with costs budgeting and costs assessment proceedings. James has also dealt with Privy Council and Supreme Court costs claims. In addition, James has significant advocacy experience in detailed assessments before Costs Judges in the Senior Courts Costs Office and in Costs Management Hearings in the County Court and High Court. James also provides advice for NHS Trusts and NHS Resolution in respect of costs assessment and preparation of Costs Budgets.
From October 2017 to March 2023, James was a Chartered Legal Executive. James was admitted as a solicitor in March 2023.
