Experience
Jo is a Senior Associate in the Regulatory team and specialises in professional regulatory and disciplinary work. Jo joined the firm in January 2022, having trained and qualified into public and regulatory law.
Expertise
Jo has experience of carrying out investigations into alleged professional misconduct, in particular in the veterinary and farriery sectors. She has assisted with regulatory appeals, including to the Privy Council. She has also worked with a variety of membership organisations and advised on their disciplinary procedures and membership disputes.
With a background of advising clients in a range of sectors including education (particularly the regulation of qualification awarding organisations), health and the third sector, Jo has experience advising on a wide range of public and regulatory matters, both contentious and advisory, including in relation to judicial review, policy and procedure matters, handling complex complaints, engagement with public inquiries and the powers and duties of regulators. Jo has particular experience of advising and training third sector clients on safeguarding issues.
