Joseph Dowling

Joseph joined Capsticks’ London office in November 2016.
Previously he worked in private practice at a leading personal injury firm and for NHS Resolution (formerly NHS Litigation Authority). Joseph worked for over four years in NHS Resolution’s Technical Claims Unit and he managed a number of important projects (see below). Joseph was instrumental in driving NHS Resolution’s first ever successful committal application.
Joseph specialises in defending clinical negligence claims and manages a caseload on behalf of NHS Resolution. Joseph’s caseload includes maximum severity catastrophic neurological injury claims. He has expertise in respect of NHS Resolution anti-fraud processes and combatting exaggerated claims.
Notable Projects
- Led NHS Resolution’s first ever consultation on the Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) (2016)
- Implemented NHS Resolution’s anti-fraud project for non-clinical claims (2015)
- Implemented NHS Resolution processes to prevent unnecessary costs and damages from being paid in relation to exaggerated clinical claims (2012 – 2016)
