Kate specialises in conduct, competence and health investigations on behalf of a number of regulatory bodies, including the General Dental Council, General Optical Council, Solicitors Regulation Authority, General Pharmaceutic Council and General Chiropractic Council. She also handles judicial reviews and other High Court cases in the disciplinary arena. In addition, Kate provides advice to emergency services clients.
Kate has extensive experience of progressing cases through the regulatory and litigation processes and has handled a number of complex and sensitive cases. She also provides bespoke advice to regulatory bodies on procedure and published guidance and policy documents.
Kate regularly appears as an advocate before the committees of a number of regulatory bodies. She has presented more than 35 substantive cases as well as many interim order and resumed hearings.
Kate has also undertaken a secondment within the in-house legal department of a disciplinary regulator.
Kate’s regulatory work is complimented by her work for NHS clients in general civil litigation matters, with particular focus on disputes involving fraud, public law and healthcare law issues.
