Capsticks launches its Summer Vacation scheme for graduate recruitment
06/11/24Capsticks is delighted to announce that as part of its ongoing commitment to developing its Early Careers programme it is launching its external recruitment programme for trainee solicitors, with the opening this month of applications for its Graduate Vacation Scheme for summer 2025.
The scheme will offer 15 candidates the opportunity to spend a two-week placement in summer 2025, at one of its market leading practice areas in its Birmingham, Leeds or London offices. All candidates on the scheme will also be considered for a Training Contract with the firm commencing in 2025 or 2026 and which includes full sponsorship for the SQE.
In recent years Capsticks has principally recruited its future trainee solicitors from its thriving paralegal programme, and currently has 39 trainees. With the introduction of the summer vacation scheme in 2025, the firm anticipates that about 20% of its training contracts will be filled by external candidates, with the balance continuing to be recruited through its paralegal programme.
Managing Partner, Martin Hamilton, commented:
“I’m really pleased that we’re launching our summer vacation scheme, introducing an external recruitment element to continue to build on our thriving early careers programme. Anyone wishing to secure a training contract with us will now be able to do so either through our excellent paralegal programme, or through our vacation scheme which will now run each summer starting in 2025. The legal profession and the wider world of work has changed radically in recent years, and it’s important that we remain forward thinking in extending the routes available to join us.”
Early Careers Business Partner, Patricia Birkedale, further added:
“These changes are significant for the firm and will continue our commitment to offer a wonderful experience to everyone on our Early Careers programmes. It’ll open access to the sector for a wide range of individuals, helping us move the dial to achieve our diversity, equity and inclusion targets.”
