The consumer standards and proactive regulation for local authorities
Join us on Tuesday 10 September, where we are delighted to welcome the Director of Regulatory Engagement at the Regulator of Social Housing, Angela Holden, who will join Capsticks' Tiffany Cloynes, Partner and Head of Local Government, Darren Hooker, Partner and Head of Governance and Rebecca Gilbert, Principal Associate, where they will together discuss the new consumer standards for local authorities.
The new consumer standards and a proactive regime of consumer regulation came into effect on 1st April 2024. For the first time, local authority RPs will be subject to inspections by the Regulator of Social Housing against the consumer standards. This will of course be new territory for local authorities and this is in the context of specific challenges that local authorities face.
The session will explore:
- The expectations of the new consumer standards
- What particular issues local authorities are facing
- What local authorities can expect in terms of proactive consumer regulation
- Learning from pilot inspections of local authorities
Attendees will be treated to an engaging and lively discussion from our speakers and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session.
