Emily is a Legal Director within the Housing and Regeneration team. She specialises in acquisitions and development work for Registered Providers, local authorities and house builders. She has over 14 years experience in the sector.
Experience
Emily’s primary focus is acquisitions of social housing pursuant to s106 agreements and land led deals. Recent examples include:
- an acquisition conditional on planning of a phased residential development site for an RP client, land value 2.5m with the second payment triggered by delivery of sports facilities by the seller.
- the unconditional acquisition of a development site with planning for circa £4m subject to various overages for an RP client.
She also has dealt with both development finance and charging portfolios of social housing and reviewed and advised on numerous grant funding agreements both with Homes England and other funders such as local authorities.
She has supervised RTB/ RTA sales, shared ownership sales and staircasing for both RPs and local authorities and has a niche knowledge of RTB eligibility, buy back provisions and shared ownership products including rural and retirement schemes.
She has also set up for profit RPs.
