Experience
Kate became a partner after 6 years at the firm, with 8 years PQE. Joining the clinical law team at Capsticks as a solicitor in July 2016, Kate was promoted to senior solicitor in September 2019, associate in May 2021 and partner in May 2022. In that time, Kate was given considerable responsibility in a short period, including management of the London clinical law paralegal team and deputy team leader.
Prior to joining Capsticks, Kate acted for claimants in Irwin Mitchell’s clinical negligence team, which provided experience acting for both sides in litigation providing unique perspective on the legal process which can contribute to successful dispute resolution.
Expertise
Kate now leads a team of solicitors and is responsible for the management of the clinical law paralegal team regionally across London, Leeds and Birmingham, with oversight of the LIP DA portfolio of instructions.
Kate has extensive experience in management responsibilities including; recruitment, people and performance management (121s, appraisals), billing, delivering financial targets and audit. She continues to deal with claims on behalf of NHS Resolution in a personal capacity and as a supervisor, holding the client’s confidence to deal with high value, complex and sensitive matters of the utmost importance.
Kate has generated strong relationships with NHS Resolution at a senior level, attending panel conferences and undertaking a TCU secondment. As a new partner, Kate was given client manager responsibility for two significant Trust clients, demonstrating Kate has the division’s confidence to manage these important and sometimes challenging relationships.
