Kate Cornelius

Kate is a Partner in the Claims department, acting for a variety of NHS Trusts and NHS Resolution in clinical negligence claims. Kate qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and joined Capsticks in 2016.
Prior to joining Capsticks, Kate spent five years at a leading claimant firm where she completed her training contract gaining experience in the fields of clinical negligence, serious injuries, court of protection and public law before qualifying into the Medical Law and Patients’ Rights department where she conducted clinical negligence claims on behalf of claimants.
Kate now conducts clinical negligence claims on behalf of NHS Trusts and NHS Resolution. Kate manages a wide ranging caseload across many medical specialties, including neurosurgery, cardiology, orthopaedic surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry and general surgery. Kate’s practice includes high value and complex claims involving the most severe neurological injuries. She regularly represents her clients at contested hearings in both the High Court and County Court, mediations, conferences and settlement meetings.
