Pallabi Shakya

Pallabi joined Capsticks in 2019 as a paralegal. She worked within the clinical law team handling an independent caseload and supporting fee-earners with a wide range of clinical negligence claims, including large group actions.
Pallabi has undertaken a secondment as Interim Head of Legal at an NHS Trust providing management to the legal team with their claims and advisory matters ranging from their obstetric cases to responses to the Department of Education. She also supported the Executive team including the Medical Director and Chief Executive as well as running a number of training sessions for Junior Doctors.
Pallabi has experience with running the Capsticks Claims Handling Service where she assisted a number of Trusts with their portfolio of claims. She has also worked on employer liability claims.
On completion of her training contract Pallabi qualified into the claims insurance team and now supports insurers with the handling of their medical malpractice claims.
Expertise
Pallabi acts for Insurers and their Insureds with claims ranging from beauty claims and clinical negligence matters, including assisting senior solicitors with clinical claims resulting from serious injuries and those following participation in clinical trials. Pallabi is familiar with all aspects of litigation, including negotiating costs.

CSR activity
Pallabi is an active member of the firm’s corporate social responsibility initiatives such as the Gadget Workshop at the Wimbledon Guild.
Other skills
Pallabi is an active member of the Nepalese Doctors Association UK. Pallabi comperes the Association’s annual charity dinner, which this year was in support of survivors of women trafficking in Nepal. Pallabi is fluent in Nepali and Hindi.
