Experience
Rebecca is an associate (FCILEx) in the firm’s Employment and Pensions team.
She qualified as a Charted Legal Executive Lawyer in 2020 and, has extensive experience in advising employers, national federations and, scheme members on various employment and pension related issues.
Rebecca has worked on claims valued in excess of £1,000,000 and in group claims involving over 37,000 scheme members.
Expertise
Rebecca provides specialist advice on public sector pension issues and corporate transactions, including dealing with underfunded schemes, allocation of pensions risk on TUPE transfers and transactions, the Pensions Regulator, and advising on guarantees, contingent assets, recovery plans and other scheme funding issues.
She also offers advice on regulatory and governance issues and undertakes general advisory work for trustees, pension scheme mergers as well as, investment and custody agreements.
Notable projects
- Advising on a variety of issues in relation to the Police Pension Regulations, including ill-health issues
- Advising on NHS Pension Scheme issues including in relation to partial retirement
- Advising on and issuing applications for Judicial Review arising from decisions made by public sector bodies
- Advising on pension auto-enrolment
- Advising federations, employers and their members on the interpretation, structure and funding of their occupational pension schemes.
- Advising on the interplay between fiduciary obligations under charities law and pensions law
