Experience
Tana is an Associate within the advisory team at Capsticks’ London office.
Tana has experience supporting healthcare, local government, housing, and regulatory clients with all aspects of information law, including litigation, advisory and transactional matters. She also has experience working on a range of healthcare and public law matters including judicial reviews, Court of Protection matters, and public inquiries.
Expertise
Tana advises clients on all aspects of data protection, freedom of information, privacy and confidentiality. She has experience handling contentious or repercussive information rights requests, dealing with ICO investigations, drafting and reviewing data protection documentation and DPIAs for high-risk processing, and advising generally on compliance with data protection legislation. She frequently tackles novel and complex issues such as implementation of AI technology, sharing of confidential or market sensitive information, medical device certification, and use of CCTV and surveillance.
Prior to joining Capsticks, Tana qualified at a top tier Australian Law firm and gained experience advising private and public sector health clients on a range of information law, health regulatory and commercial issues and working on coronial inquests, statutory inquiries, Royal Commissions and medical negligence claims.
CSR activity
Tana has undertaken a range of voluntary work both through her employment (including providing pro-bono legal advice at various community legal centres and co-ordinating and fundraising for events such LegalWalk and Darkness2Daylight), and in her spare time (including volunteering at Foodbank, Cancer Council Queensland, and the Royal Flying Doctor Service).
