Experience
Ruth is a Legal Director in the claims department in our Leeds Office, having joined in October 2019, but has worked exclusively in the field of Defendant clinical negligence litigation since qualification defending claims on behalf of the NHS Resolution (formerly NHS Litigation Authority).
Expertise
Ruth specialises in high value and complex birth injury cases, adult brain injury and spinal injury. Ruth also has a keen interest in cases involving fundamental dishonesty, and has pursued a dishonest Claimant through the committal process resulting in a prison sentence for his actions.
In addition to Ruth’s case load, she is responsible for leading the Capsticks Diploma in Leeds, delivered to external clients and medical professionals. She has also undertaken secondments at NHS Resolution and with Trust clients. She is involved in student link days and sessions with York University, and delivers training to clients.
